P1/2 youngsters helped organise the event after doing a class topic looking at typical foods eaten by kids in Canada, Sweden, China and Zimbabwe.
“The children loved it,” said class teacher Stephen Hall. “They all paid money to eat something in the banquet and there was hardly any left.”

Hide AdAmong items in the buffet were Canadian maple syrup, pancakes and bacon; Swedish meatballs, crisp bread and cheese; Chinese noodles and spring rolls; and an African stew cooked by the mother of St John’s PS twins Nama and Tiva Chakona, who are originally from Zimbabwe.
The £87 raised will go to Let The Children Live, a charity which supports street children in Colombia.
