A MOTHERWELL schoolgirl enjoyed a double celebration at the Robert Burns World Federation National Primary Schools Festival at Greenock.

Beth Cunningham is the toast of her friends at Cathedral Primary after her success.

The festival is the culmination of many months of competition between thousands of primary school pupils throughout the country.

Beth Cunningham won the P4/5 singing category for her version of "Whistle And I'll Come Tae Ye My Lad" and was also part of the singing team from the Lanarkshire Federation who picked up the Tom McIlwraith Team Trophy.

The team also featured Caitlin Millar from St Patrick's Primary, New Stevenston.
