REPRESENTATIVES from North Lanarkshire's Girlguiding divisions gathered to mark the movement's 100th anniversary.
The meeting, held at the Alona Hotel in Strathclyde Park, was hosted by North Lanarkshire Provost Tom Curley as part of the year-long celebrations, which started last September.

Provost Curley said: "It was a pleasure on behalf of the council to mark the 100th anniversary of such a tremendous organisation.

"The Girlguiding movement in North Lanarkshire has a rich history and tradition within their local communities and provide the perfect platform for girls and guide leaders to develop a huge range of skills and leadership qualities."

The culmination of the celebrations in North Lanarkshire will take place on the October 20 when at 8.10pm, Girlguides worldwide will renew their promise in Broadwood Stadium in Cumbernauld.
