New supermarket helps charity cash in

THE new Tesco Express store in Carfin celebrated its launch with a donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The charity's community fundraiser Jenny Seftor officially opened the the new store in Bell Quadrant and as part of the opening celebrations, store manager Andy Thom and his staff presented her with a cheque for £500 after Marie Curie Cancer Care was selected by Tesco as its Charity of the Year.
Andy said: "We are delighted to be able to support Marie Curie Cancer Care. We thank Jenny for coming down to open the store and we are really glad that she could join in the celebrations with us.
"My staff and I are enjoying welcoming our customers into the new store and we hope that Tesco will become a key part of the local community."
Jenny said: "We are delighted that Marie Curie Cancer Care will be benefiting from the opening of the new store and would like to thank Tesco for their support.
"The money raised by Tesco staff and customers at the Carfin store will be spent directly in the local area, providing vital care for patients as well as emotional support and advice for their families."
