Dominic set to play for the Pope

A BIRKENSHAW boy will be among the musicians who will greet the Pope when he arrives in Glasgow next week.

Dominic Keith (12) is one of the members of St Francis Pipe Band from Glasgow who will greet Pope Benedict XVI prior to his open air mass at Bellahouston Park.

Holy Cross High pupil Dominic's participation will also be part of a family double as his cousin Paul Foy (12), from Glasgow, is also a band member.

The boys are following in the footsteps of late grandfather, Patrick McCabe, who was from Viewpark, and also played with St Francis.

Dominic's mum Mary said: "Dominic is really excited about it and we are all very proud of both the boys."
