UNEMPLOYED people in Motherwell will be encouraged to take the first steps back into work when a skills roadshow visits the town on Monday, August 11.
The roadshow is part of a series organised by Lanarkshire's Working which aim to help people gain the experience and confidence needed to succeed in the job market.
The roadshow's helpful staff will answer any employment-related questions. Visitors will be able to find out how they can improve their chances of getting a job and think about starting a new life.
The Lanarkshire's Working project offers people access to a range of free skills courses and employment projects which can help them find suitable work.
The range of courses available includes topics such as written and verbal communication and computer skills. Personal development classes are also available, giving unemployed people the opportunity to broaden their horizons.
These include vocational skills in areas such as retail and DIY, work placement programmes and 'taster courses' to allow people to try a selection of different activities.
Lanarkshire's Working engagement officer Lynn Gow said: "People can have all sorts of concerns about entering employment, and these roadshows are the ideal way for them to have their questions answered by a friendly face.
"Very often people have more opportunities to find employment than they might realise and Lanarkshire's Working is here to help them unlock their potential."
The roadshow will be based in Brandon Parade and runs from 10am to 4pm.
