MOTHERWELL College principal Hugh Logan and chairman of the board Ian Watson have been raising a glass to the new campus at Ravenscraig although there are no champagne corks popping just yet.
The glass is being installed at the main building as work progresses towards the opening in July next year.

The steel structure, which has been contracted to Wishaw company Bone Steel, has taken shape very quickly and people who travel along the Ravenscraig road which joins Carfin to Motherwell and Wishaw, are impressed with the progress of the building.

Principal Hugh Logan said: "It is really exciting to see the campus progressing so quickly. The main building has a lot of glass which will make it bright, attractive and practical.

"While the building work progresses the college staff are also preparing for the move next year and students are looking forward to the new learning environment."

The new Motherwell College campus will have the most modern of facilities in the five-storey teaching block, two-storey workshop block, seven-storey residential block, and nursery facility.

The main learning block, which is the first being constructed, has a large amount of glazing creating a bright learning environment.

The college will also have conference facilities, a public learning centre, training restaurant, performing arts space and a job shop.
