Farrier Sandy Beveridge re-submits stable plans
Award winning farrier Sandy Beveridge, based in the village for more than 20 years, was given planning permission last year to build five homes at Smiddy Cottage as well as an extension to the access road, the erection of two commercial stable blocks, fencing and menage area.
However, this year’s application, submitted to South Lanarkshire Council is for a change to the stables from two blocks to one ‘American style barn’. Sandy said: “It’s another branch to the farrier business we currently operate. The stable facilities will have enough space for eight horses.
“The five houses will be in a cul-de-sac and be further away from the stables.”
