Carfin hand over £6,000 in memory of Zoe
A KIND-HEARTED Carfin couple have donated over £6,000 to Yorkhill's Children Hospital in memory of their late daughter who they sadly lost to a congenital heart condition.
Little Zoe Wright passed away last November at just seven months and 12 days old, leaving her parents Wendy and Iain devastated.
The tot was born with a congenital heart condition and had to endure three operations in her short life — each one aimed at extending the time the youngster had to overcome the condition.
Her parents presented a cheque of 6,200 to Yorkhill's Children Foundation, which will go towards the cardiac ward at the hospital.
The couple worked hard at raising the impressive amount with Iain taking part in three challenges including climbing Ben Nevis in August, running the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run and then cycling from Glasgow to Edinburgh last weekend.
They both helped organised a charity night in August, which raised over 2,000 and Wendy managed to get her work The Green Insurance Company in Uddingston on board the fundraising quest with the firm donating 1,000.
Wendy said: "We just want to give something back to Yorkhill Hospital and we are so happy that the money will go towards the cardiac ward."
