Former Sunday Post editor dies

The son of a Motherwell steelworker who edited the Sunday Post for more than 20 years has died.
William Anderson CBE, known throughout his life as Bill, had been suffering from a long illness before he passed away earlier this month at the age of 77.
More than 150 mourners turned out for his funeral in Dundee on Friday including television presenter Lorraine Kelly, with the humanist service talking place of what would have been his 78th birthday.
Bill attended Dalziel High winning an English prize and editing the school newspaper.
He read medicine at Glasgow University and served with the Royal Artillery in Hong Kong before joining DC Thomson in Dundee in 1958.
He made his name the paper’s Holiday on Nothing reporter (the Hon Man), before in 1968 being appointed editor of the Sunday Post.
He edited the paper until 1990 and was later appointed managing editor, being awarded a CBE in recognition of his contribution to journalism in 1991.
