Grant funding boost for Viewpark church
A PROJECT to carry out a major refurbishment to a church in Viewpark received a welcome boost this week to the tune of £50,000.
Viewpark Parish Church has been awarded a grant for that amount by the Landfill Communities Funds of Waste Recycling Environmental (WRG) administered by the environmental body WREN.
The money will go towards the ambitious project being undertaken by the church to upgrade its buildings and facilities.
Minister Rev Michael Lyall said: "This award from WREN is the biggest single grant we have received so far and naturally we are absolutely delighted about it.
"We are now hoping to go out to tender fairly soon and would like to have work starting early in the new year."
