Hat-trick for Lawmuir

FAIR ENOUGH . . . Lawmuirs Great Global Gang celebrate their success

CHILDREN and staff at Lawmuir Primary are celebrating the Bellshill school being awarded Fairtrade School status for the third year running.

Over the past year Lawmuir pupils have taken part in a large number of activities to raise the awareness and understanding of issues relating to Fairtrade.

They have included designing a new coffee cup for Starbucks - winning entries were displayed at the Starbucks shop at Glasgow Airport - Fairtrade coffee mornings, Fairtrade stalls and the production of a Fairtrade recipe book.

All the activities were organised by the school’s global committee, The Great Global Gang who are already working on this year’s initiatives which include a Fairtrade shopping bag and a display of their their work.
