LEFT TO DIE

NO DEFENCE . . . Maria with four-week-old Gerry

A MOSSEND woman this week hit out at those responsible for putting a four-week-old kitten in a plastic bag and leaving it to die.

Maria Reid, a voluntary co-ordinator with Cats Protection Lanarkshire, is now looking after the tiny kitten after it was handed in to her by a neighbour who found it while out walking his dog.

The neighbour passed the kitten on to Maria after finding it near his home in Leander Crescent and then recalling that he had seen Maria’s van, bearing the Cats Protection Lanarkshire logo, being driven in and out of his housing estate,

And Maria said that if the animal hadn’t been found when it was it was unlikely that it would have survived.
