Logans Primary gets glowing HMIe report

STAFF and pupils at Logans Primary School are celebrating after receiving a glowing HMIe report.

The north Motherwell school was awarded five 'very good' evaluations following an inspection in January.

A report from the education body describes pupils as 'well-motivated and enthusiastic learners' and highlighted that attainment in English and maths has increased over the past three years.

Headteacher Doreen Boyd was delighted with the outcome and praised pupils for their efforts.

She said: "We are very proud of the way the children handled the inspection week and their contribution to the success of the school was magnificent.

"They were the best evidence we could possibly have produced to showcase the work of the school."

Councillor Jim Logue, convener of the council's learning and leisure services, congratulated the school, saying: "This is a highly positive report which is a testament to the hard work of staff, parents and pupils at Logans Primary School. They should all be very proud of their achievements."

The school, which celebrates its 50th anniversary later this year, will hold an open day on Wednesday, March 24, between 9am and 3pm.
