To mark this event, the committee decided it would be fitting to plant a tree.

Most of the Society’s monthly meetings are held in the Albertslund Hall in Westacres Road. It was decided that the rowan tree (Sorbus Aucuparia) should be planted outside the hall.
On Tuesday, December 11, committee members Adrian Egglestone, Cynthia Martin, Charles Murray, Elspeth Simpson and Peter Watson had a small ceremony which saw the tree firmly planted and watered.
Society members can monitor its progress as they come to meetings in the hall.
It will take 20 years to grow into a mature tree.
