BELLSHILL youngster Scott Russell got his motocross racing career off to a flier by winning his debut event.
Scott (7), from Greenend View, took first place in the third round of the Scottish youth motocross championships at Inverness, racing in the autos category for under-9s.

The Lawmuir Primary pupil actually missed the first two rounds of the season-long competition, but made up for lost time by racing away from his rivals in the Highlands.

Scott is a member of the Cardenden club in Fife where he goes twice a week to ride because of a lack of facilities in this area.
