Cup final date for Villagers
UDDINGSTON Cricket Club 1st XI reached the Scottish Cup final when they beat Dunfermline Knights in the last four at Castle Policies on Sunday.
Captain Ricky Bawa won the toss and chose to field, anticipating better batting conditions later in the day.
Uddingston tore into the Fifers whose batsmen found scoring difficult eventually falling to 80 all out in the 31st over.
Due to a mid-match stoppage for rain, under the Duckworth/Lewis rules Uddingston required 78 to win in 45 overs.
After Paul Hoffmann quickly moved the score up to 51 for 1 before he was stumped in the 10th over and it was left to professional Rasika Priyadarshana to see his side home in the 18th over for sven wicket victory.
The final against Stirling County takes place on September 4 at West of Scotland's Hamilton Crescent.
