Reynolds ready for Scotland call
MARK Reynolds has spoken of his frustration at failing to break into the Scotland squad despite Motherwell's superb recent defensive record.
The 22-year-old has been part of a settled Fir Park backline who have conceded only two goals in an unbeaten SPL run that now stretches to 11 games.
However, there was no place for him in new manager Craig Levein's first full Scotland squad for last week's friendly against the Czech Republic.
Reynolds admitted: "It's reached the stage where it is frustrating because I've now had more than 150 club games, I'm playing every week and we have the best defence in Scotland just now.
"However, there is no point moaning. All I can do is keep playing my best and sooner rather than later I'll get a chance. That's all you can ask for."
Reynolds has just over a year to go on his 'Well contract and there is speculation that the club could cash in on him in the summer, but he doesn't think being at Fir Park hinders his Scotland prospects.
He pointed out: "David Clarkson and Ross McCormack got capped when they were here, so it's nothing to do with being at a small club and, hopefully, I'll get the call too at some point."
